Love these games, but having slight problems

I loved playing the first one from the store on here, ran smoothly and I was able to just plug in my controller and play. However this one there are spots all over my screen after cinematics, and i cant figure out how to switch to the controller. I hope this is maybe possible. Everywhere I read says it supports game pads. I just cant figure it out.
